Mr Humphrey Berkeley, of Fiji, has had an interview with the Premier on matters connected with tha Fijians, . the result <ff which, is that Mr Berkeley has decided to proceed
to England with Mr Seddon and
place before the Imperial authorities the condition of the Fijians. Mr Berkeley asserts that the Fijians ara in a state of absolute vassalage, and, at the suggestion of the Premier, he has decided to lecture throughout this colony on the conditions of slay* cry.and oppression under which, the natives of the islands are suffering. The removal of Sir George O'Brien: from Fiji, ihe states, has not imjar^ ed matters, as the present administrator is following the precedent of his predecessor.
