ST. DAVID'S OLD CHURCH SITE.
(To the Editor.)
Siiy—Permit me to suggest to th« | City Council the great desirability of '{i taking steps 'to widen the footpath in front of the recent site of St. ; David's Church, Symonds-street. At ; present the frontage projects about twenty feet further than the fron- ! tages of the hotel and shops on itgijf northern side, and forms a very irre--; g-ular and inconvenient angle. The *• Council should certainly make strong efforts to remedy the matter. If at- | rangements could be made with 'the owner to cut off the unsightly angle, the results would be a vast improve- I merit to the appearance of that part of the 'thoroughfare, an improvement to the frontage itself, and a great convenience to the public. If the present ugly corner is allowed to con- I tinue, it will be cause for great regret, as it is quite a disfigurement to the street. Will the Grafton Ward | members move in the matter? —Yours, etc., ' F.A.C.
