ALLEGED BREACH OF CONTRACT.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent)
WAIHI, Thursday.
At the Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr Bush, S.M., a case of some importance was heard. Jas. Northcott sued B. L. Knight, proprietor of the Tamaki Sawmill Company, for damages for breach of contract, and also for wages. Mr Miller appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Clendon for defendant. It appears that plaintiff entered upon a contract with defendant in March last to deliver 200,000 feet of logs, at the rate of 2000 feet per day, from the bush to Waimata mill. Subsequently difficulties arose re carrying out of the contract, which led to the present action. A great amount of evidence was taken.
