THE SOUDAN.

In St. Albans' Schoolroom last evening Mr. F. G. Ewington delivered an able and most instructive lecture on "The Reconquest of tha Soudan," in aid of the church funds. Mr. Ewington dealt exhaustively, and yet concisely, with his subject. He ga.e a graphic account of the operations of the late General Gordon, and the thrilling events that led up to his death in Khartoum. Gordon's favourite hymn, "Abide With Me," was beautifully sung by Mrs. Morrin. Other appropriate musical selections were sung by Miss Morrin and Mr. A. S. Reid.
