ST. JOHN'S GYMNASIUM CLUB.
The sixth session of St. John's Wesleyan Gymnasium Club was brought to a close last evening by a social given, by the members to their friends. There was a very large attendance. The school was gaily decorated with flowers and the flags of all nations, tastefully arranged by the young men. Interesting games were indulged in, and refreshments were handed round. The Rev. W. Ready (president) presented the-trophies to the successful competitors, and they were pinned on the coat of each recipient by Mrs. Ready. The successful competitors were: Seniors—First prize (a gold medal presented by Mr. J. W. Stewart), F. L. Bartlett; juniors—first prize (a gold medal presented by Mr. A. J. Booth), L. Neale; second prize (a silver medal, presented by Mr. T. Burnard), A. Foster. The club presented Mr. W. H. Newton, the instructor, with a sUver teapot and tray, suitably engraved. They also presented to the secretary, Mr. Sydney Scott, a set of gold links and shirt studs. These were presented by the president. The recipients of trophies and presents returned thanks to the donors.
