CHRISTCHURCH, this day.
In view of the New Zealand Grand National meeting and the Hunt Club meeting, a large number of horses were exercised this morning. Social Pest and Strayblrd went together two rounds over the schooling fences, both jumping well. The former lakes to country nicely. Right Metal fell ot the first jump, but afterwards covered two rounds, showing fair form at the fences. The Xeedle and Opaku jumped the hurdles, the former giving a clever display. Patroclus and Derring Do, Surprise, Dunbrowu, Larboard Watch, Hairtriggcr and Natation all jumped well. Benzoin and Dundas were sent a strong seven furlongs on the cinders. The Yaldhurst three and two-year-olds, with Skobelofl! and St. Michael, were on the tracks doing useful exercise. Amongst horses doing steady pacing were Sant Ilario, Sundial, Strathnairn, Magnificent. Hotu, Lady Dundas,Glennladale, Malatua, Military, Cavalry, Peerage, Huku, Zither, Marina, Oyster, Long Tom and Daisy Chain.
