WHITIANGA V. HAURAKI.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
COROMANDEL, Saturday
Whitianga and Hauraki tried conclusions at the Kathleen paddock, and after a. very atubboruly contested game the visitors secured a victory by the narrow margin of three points, a try to nil. Mr 11. U. Gatland acted as referee. Heavy rain fell during the progress of the gume, which somewhat crippled the passing of the backs. Play for the most part was couiined to the forward division. Fulsome considerable time Hauraki held the advantage, and the visitors had a busy time defending their goal. Kerr, of the Hauraki team, narrowly mis.sed scoring. In the evening the visitors were entertained at a ismoke social at the Star and Garter Hotel, when Mr A. T. Kenrlck presided. An enjoyable evening was spent.
