RELIGIOUS ASSOCIATIONS BILL.
ATTITUDE OF THE
VATICAN
(Received 8.47 a.m.)
ROME, July 21
The Vatican, while condemning the Religious Association law recently passed by France, allows non-recog-nised religious orders to apply for authorisation, submitting only a synopsis of their statutes. PARIS, July 21.
French newspapers declare that pious frauds will not deceive minister worship.
[The Religious Associations Bill makes a direct blow at the Vatican, because it prohibits all religious associations between Frenchmen and foreigners, and associations with headquarters abroad, or directed by foreigners, without the authorisation of the State, and also associations whose members live in common. The confiscated property of these religious bodies it is suggested should be transferred to the workmen's pensions fund.]
