SUCCESSES IN ENGLAND

LONDON, July 21.

Owing to the excellent work done by Mr Bertram Steel, of Melbourne, and Mr Joseph Mellor, of New Zealand, who are studying at Breslan and Manchester respectively, the Commissioners of the 1851 Exhibition have renewed their scholarships for the third year. LONDON, July 20. The Commissioners of the 1851 Exhibition have awarded a science research scholarship of £150 a year to Mr James Malcolm Maclaren, of New Zealand.

[Mr J. M. Maclaren is a graduate of Auckland University College. He was recommended by the. examiners last year for tbe science research scholarship, which has now been conferred by the Commissioners.]
