DIJNEDIN, Monday
The Conciliation Board was eng-aged to-day hearing' t.he dispute between the Builders Labourers' Union and the Master Builders' Association. The Union asks for an increase of wages to meet the increased cost of living".
CHRISTCIIURCH, Monday
The painters' dispute was continued before the Conciliation Board this morning, but was adjourned for the dispute between the Canterbury Woollen Mills and the Employees' Union and the Canterbury mil] owners. The Union demands that 44 hours constitute a week's work, minimum wage for sub-foreman £?> per week, overtime to be paid, no piece work or sxibeontraeting". suitable heated diningroom 1o be provided, proportion of boys to be one to four men, double time on Sundays and holidays, and preference to Unionists. A log is annexed to the demand.
