Humours are current of action by Independent Liberals to compel the reconstruction of the Cabinet.
PUBLICANS' LICENSES
It is freely stated that some pressure has been brought to bear on the Premier to induce him to increase the term of publicans' licenses from three to nine years, and that a compromise may result. IMPEEST SUPPLY BILL. No serious opposition is likely to be raised to the Imprest Supply Bill. The Leader of the Opposition will probably raise a protest against the manner in which heavy expenditure was incurred without Parliamentary sanction, and point ont that the Legislature ought to have been called together in May to pass votes for the Royal Reception, and a vote of condolence with the King.
The Ocean Accident Co. notify employers of labour that they have decided not to agree to ajiy tariff arrangements for accident insurance with any other office, and are prepared to quote employers of labour the usual fair rates for which that corporation is noted. This 'terminates the tentative agreement between the Government, N.Z. and Ocean Accident Companies.
