MEETING OF MILK SUPPLIERS
Mr Ambury, representing- Messrs Ambury and English, met the Te Awamotu suppliers at Te Awarautu last night,, about 50 or 60 being present. Mr J. L. Mandeno occupied the chair. Mr Ambury presented a statement showing the amount paid for butterfat by his firm, and stated that the higher prices were solely due to the tests. His managers had instructions to read the test to the full, and every ounce of butter-fat was paid for. The highest tests had been obtained at llelensville and Woodhill, or the district known as the Despised North. The prices paid by his firm, and also by the Dairy Association, were higher than those paid by any co-operative concern dealing solely with buttermaking in the colony. As showing the necessity for making accurate tests Air Ambury said that at TeArohti West, where the test had been onetenth of one per cent, higher than at W-aihou, £106 more had been paid for butter-fat than for a similar quantity at the latter place. The speaker declared his intention of adhering to his offer of a Jd bonus instead of a halfpenny. He was frequently applauded, and received a hearty vote of thanks, suppliers expressing satisfaction with and confidence in the firm. FARMERS' CLUB. The annual meeting of the Te Awamutu branch of the Farmers' Club was li-eld subsequently, when the following officers were elected: —Chairman, Mr J. H. Mandeno; Vice-Chairman, Mr Hugh Irvine; General Committee, Messrs W. North, Geo. MeKhider, McOardle, Teasdale, Anderson, McGechie, Johns, Potts, Kay; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. Bowden.
