(Suburbs, 4 goals; Grey Lynn, 2 goals.) Both teams were well matched. Su-burly*' "-\acl the slig-ht advantage throng']) possessing- the better attack players, who are more experienced and play with better combination. Early in "the game Kendall netted the first goal for the red and blacks, and Coslett was not long in returning- the compliment for Grey Lynn. After a long interval oi' clo.se play Morrin succeeded in getting Suburbs' second goal into the net. No further score was recorded when the .spell was called. After the "face" again Somerfield, Morrin and Owen made things very lively for Grey Lynn backs, and the latter drove a neat one into the net. 11. WalUm was the recipient of a nice pass from his brother Arthur, and shot the red ami whites' second goal. About ten minutes before time Morrin increased Suburbs' score to 4 goals. Nothing further eventful occurred before time was called.
Those who could be singled out for playing the best on the winning side were Somerfield, Owen, Brown, Morrin and Foubister, while for the losers Coslett, Bradly. Walton Bros., Madden and Pallctt were the most prominent.
Grafton and Ponsonby still lead for the banner and meet each other on July 13tJi.
