ACCIDENTS.

NAPIER, Friday.
A jockey named Hickey, who was injured by being- thrown from Wai» tio in the Final Steeplechase to-day, and who it was at first thought Wa3 not much hurt, is now found to be suffering- from a severe rupture, and his condition is very critical. Two. medical men ate in. attendance cm him, and his recovery is regarded as doubtful. .
CHRISTCHURCH, Friday
Mr Robert Wallace, a farmer at Halswell, was thrown from a dray last evening, and sustained serious injury to his spine.
