WAIHI EXTENDED.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

WATHI, this day,

It is reported here that the Waihi Extended is approaching the reef in the south-east crosscut. The flow of water is increasing-, and the country is free, and is holding leaders. LATER. I visited the Wnihi Extended mine, and the manager reports he has struck a reef which is about ten feet through. Numerous leaders and stringers exist in the vicinity. The water is not troublesome. The roanag-er intends driving towards the bore holes. He also reports that there is a favourable change in the country in the northwest drive. He expects to cut & reef here also. The striking of the reef has caused some excitement here.
