RE ENCAMPMENT AT WELLINGTON.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —Kindly allow a small space in your valuable paper to comment on the ungentleinanly remarks used by Colonel Pole-Penton in reference t< the "Uncooked Beef Procession." There is no doubt that discipline must be maintained, but Colonel Pole-Penton had no right to use the language 1 he did to a party of men who have volunteeTed their services without fear or reward. If Colonel Pole-Penton has the authority to sec that the men are provided for, would it not suit him better to see to this than "hobnobbing" after Royalty so much? —I am, etc,

A GENTLEMAN.
