MAORI LANDS COUNCIL.
The election of members for the Tokerau Maori Land Council under the Maori Land Administration Act of 1000 was held at the various polling places throughout the district north of Auckland on Friday, the 17th inst. Telegraphic returns received by the Returning Officer, Mr C. F. Maxwell, give the result of the poll as follows: —1, Iraia Kuao, 1213 votes; 2, Herepete Itapihana, 1057 votes; 3, Wiremu RAkihana, 953 votes; 4, Aporo Kuku, 474 votes; 5, Hare Tuku, 35S votes; 6, Hone Paraea, 297 votes. As three members only are required Iraia Kuao, representing Ngapuhi tribe, Herepete Eapihana, representing Te Rarawa, and Wiremu Eikihana, representing Te Eoroa are consequently the elected members of the Tokerau ?'■■'>'•!
