CROWN LANDS SALES.

At the Crown Lands Office to-day the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr Gerhard Mueller) declared open for application tinder the optional system of. the Lands Acts, further areas of Crown lands in the Kawhia County, chiefly in the vicinity of Te Kuiti, on the main trunk line of railway. The block has been surveyed into 43 sections, comprising- a total of 5441 aci;es. Full particulars were advertised by the posters distributed throughout the • district, and the Land Office officials were busy throughout the day receiving- applications. Over 1589 were accepted, chiefly under the leasing tenures, carryingl improvemnt conditions and personal occupation of the lands. Mr I Mueller, the Commissioner, will conduct the ballot to-morrow at 11 a.m., when applicants will be present or represented by agent to pay the necessary deposits if successful in the drawing1.
