As the ballot for selection of members of the City Schools Committee took about an hour and a-half to count up .the audience meanwhile discussed various subjects. The following motions were rejected: "That, if practicable, all scholars be allowed their full ii inner-time." "That all homework be abolished or reduced to more reasonable limits.." As the Parnell householders' meeting" adopted the latter ■ttggestion, in much stronger terms, it may strengthen their Committee's hands to know that the matter was brought forward at the meeting in St. James' Hall.
