DAIRY REGISTRATION.

March Ist was the date on which, according to notice issued by tlie Agricultural Department, all applications from dairymen for the registration of their premises were to have been received. Up to the present time, however, only a few applications have come in. TRAIN TIMES. A return prepared by the Railway Department sbows that the average minutes late per day for all trains in the colony during- the four weeks ending 2nd February were as follows: — Express trains, l.'ilmin; suburban trains, 7.Bmin; mixed trains, J.TOmin. MINISTERS1 MOVEMENTS. The Premier has been engaged all day at his private residence, working up arrears of business. Mr McGowan "is expected back tomorrow night. MAORI COUNCIL ELECTIONS. The elections of native members of Councils under the Maori Councils Act, passed last session, have been' appointed as follows:—For the Auckland district: Maniapoto, 12th March; Whangarei and Tukerau, March 13; Hokianga, Wairoa, and Tongariro, March 20; Ngatiwhatua, March 25; Mongonui, March 20,
