POLO.
The newly-formed Kemueru Club ig shaping very well, the result of steady practice. The club has ap« plied to the N.Z. Association for affiliation, and as soon as this is" granted regular matches will be played with the Auckland Club. The members practice three nights a week, and already several players, notably Messrs Crowther (2), Nelson, Morrin, E. Buckland. and .1. Walker, are showing promise.
On Monday the club played a scratch match with a-team of officers from the Imperial contingent, and won easily by three goals to nil. Only one spell was played. The Imperial team included, Captain Wood and Lieut. Dick-Cunnynghaiu. The visitors, accustomed to highly brained ponies, were somewhat at sea on the local mounts, and their opinion was that the local men were "good sports to take on such cattle." In England a polo pony is trained for three months or so before being played.
