Among the passengers by the Westralia, which sailed to-day, were the Hon. .). Carroll and Messrs Graham, i-'raser and Field, the last contingent of New Zealand Parliamentary visitors.

Sir W. Lyne, in proposing Mr Carrol's health", thanked New Zealand for the honour conferred by sending representatives to iiie Federal celebration, lie hoped the day was not far distant when New Zealand would go hand in hand with the Federation.

Mr Carroll thanked Sir '\Y. Lyne. He said the unbounded hospitality shown and the kindness of the past few weeks had done more to foster a friendly spirit between the Commonwealth and New Zealand than anything else couid have accomplished.

Sir YV. Lyne. in proposing the health of the Hu'ddart-i'arkei- Company, expressed the hope that the time would not be long when the company would rlo its part in bringing the two countries close together by fast steamers. Much had been done in the past, and he could confidently look to the future to effect further improvements.

Mr Kendall, on behalf of the company, suitably responded.
