NORTHCOTE.
Shortly after noon to-day the ceremony of proclaiming the new King Edward VII. took place in front of the Post Office, Northcote, a number of inhabitants being present. Mr. Joshua Jackson, J.P., read the proclamation issued by the Government, and at the close of the reading those present joined in singing "God Save the King," followed by cheers for the new King and Queen.
