ABANDONED.

WELLINGTON, Sunday

The Hon. J. G. Ward, who intended going on to Auckland to-night in order to see the last of the Sixth Contingent, was thrown from his bicycle yesterday, and sprained one of his ankles. The injury will prevent him going! North.

Our 'Wellington correspondent wires: "Your readers will be glad to learn that Mr. Ward's injuries are confined to a sprained ankle. His medical attendant hopes he will be about again in a few days. His visit to Auckland is temporarily post* poned."
