CITRISTCHURCIT, Sunday,

Though not much rain has fallen to* day, the weather remains bitterly! cold, with an overcast sky. The rain of Friday and Saturday put a stop to harvesting operations, and a consider* able amount of damage has been dona to the standing crops. In some parts of tlfe district rust has become common, and reports from North Canterbury state that spells of wet and fine weather have caused the grain in stook to sprout.
