If there is ||any public actiou your Government Jintends taking by which we can help ||in a small way, kindly keep me inIformed.—(Signed) Hone Heke." m Miri Hanatu, of Wairangn, also teleJgraphed on behalf of a number of IMaoris: "The Queen is dead. Accept |our sympathy. Long live the King." I The following reply has been sent |to the tribes by the Hon. Mr Walker:' |"In the absence of the Premier and ithe Acting-Premier your telegram |containing your pathetic expressions fof grief at the death of our great and Igood Queen were opened by me.
