PRIMITIVE METHODIST CONFERENCE.
The Conference resumed yesterday afternoon. It was decided, in.view of the 20th. century effort which the Primitive Methodist Church in the colony intends to make, that as a connexion it should seek to direct interest in the development of the Primitive Methodist South Central African Mission, and that a foreign missionary secretary be appointed, whose duties shall be to correspond with the missionaries on the African mission field, and supply the monthly magazine with the information thus derived. It was also decided that the New Zealand Church should supply the luncheon and the -tea at the iinylish May Missionary Meeting- in l'JOw.
In order to carry on more aggressive Christian work in the larger centres of population, it was decided to form an "ordw of lady helpers," such as the Sisters of the People.
CONFERENCE SOIREE.
Th*e soiree in connection with the Conference was held last evening in the Franklin Road Church. There was a crowded attendance at the public meeting- which.' followed. -Mr JWatkinson presided. Addresses were o-ivcn by the Revs. W. C. Woodward, R. Hall, and S. Henderson; while Mr Bennett oontritanted a recitation, and Mr Dimery a. solo. The visiting1 delegates to the Conference, on the motion of the Rev. J. DaWson, passed a vote of thanks to the church, members who had provided such comfortable homes for them during- their stay in Auckland.
