CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday. Mr Walter Little, chemist, of this town, is exchanging business with Mr Roberts, chemist, Devonport, as from the Ist proximo. Volunteers for a Sixth Contingent for South Africa are being called for here. CAMBRIDGE BOROUGH COUNCIL. The above Council met last evening. The Mayor was appointed to wait upon the Minister for Lands, in conjunction with the representatives of the other local bodies interested, re the proposed newbridge over the Waikato when Mr Duncan visits the Waikat,o. The overdraft at date stood at £10b 15/G, and account.? amounting to £30 18/9 were passed for payment. The Mayor had deferred preparing a special order bringing the second schedule of The Noxious Weeds Act, 1900. into operation until the commencement of the New Year, when the new Munici-. pal Act comes into force. Various other matters were disposed of.
