LORD HOPETOUN AT PEETH.
PEETH, December 6. Lord Hopetoun arrived this morning.
Lord Hopetoun has been greatly improved by the voyage, but is still" pale and thin, and far from strorigv > He was unable to lea.ye his cabin until two days ago.- He hopes to be strong enough for his official duties on his arrival in Sydney. His illness is acute dysentery. contracted at Meerut. "
Owing to Lord Hopetoun's ~ illness and the uncertainty iof the.time of his arrival there was no public demonstration, but a salute was fired, and the Administrator for the Goverrinlent, the Premiei', Ministers, aud the Mayor visited him aboard the Victoria. ,
