KIRIPAKA.

The village of Kiripaka was very gay on Friday, August 31st, when afternoon tea was dispensed to the visitors and a concert held in the evening to commemorate the opening of the new schoolhouse. There was a good attendance at the concert. The children, girls and boys,, rendered some pretty action-songs, having been trained by Mrs Taylor. Miss May Thomas sang "Marguerite," Miss Mary Taylor "Rjck-a-bye Baby"; Miss McCormack, Miss Taylor, Mr Frost, Mr McCormack, and Mrs A. Cadman also gave items. Mr E. Armitage amused the audience with a stump speech on the "Boer War." After the concert an enjoyawe dance was held.
