VOLUNTEER NOTES.
The Devonport Coastguard Artillery Volunteers iired the third and final match for the pair of field glasses presented by L. D. Nathan, Esq., and gold medal presented by QuartermaslerSergeant McLeod on Saturday, at the Mount Eden range. The conditions were five shots at 200. 300, and 500 yards, class firing targets. Owing to the unfavourable state of the weather there were comparatively few competitors. The winners of the respective trophies were Gunner Maxwell and Bombardier Rose.
The following- are the principal scores: Gunner Maxwell, 69; Bombardier Rose, 68; Gunner Taw, 67; Corporal Hallett, 67; Gunner Pitts, 62; Gunner Griffiths; 61; Gunner Walton, 60.
Saturday's scores also count as the second match of a series of' three for the Lindsay Cup. The leading scores so far in the above are as follows: Lieutenant Gardner, 87; Corporal Hallett, 67; Bombardier Rose, 62; Gunner Grant, 59; Gunner Taw, 58; Gunner Maxwell, 57.
