FOUND DEAD.

(By ~ Telegraph.—Press Association.)

HOKITIKA, this day

Human remains found at Kokatahi yesterday have been identified by the boots and portions -of a cardigan jacket found near by as those of Donald Weir, a settler, who had been missing three years last June. The remains were accidental!}' found by a party of young men engag-ed rabbitting. When Weir was reported missing an active but fruitless search was made throughout the district. The remains were only about a mile ..awayfrom a homestead. Shortly after Weir was missed a credible rumour was current that he had been seen on Sydney streets. Many believed this" to be true. An inquest will be held.
