OUR BOYS AT THE FRONT.
PRAISE FROM lAN HAMILTON,
WELLINGTON, this day,
In reporting to the Commander of the New Zealand Forces,. under-daie of May 20, from a camp ten. miles north of Kroonstad, Major Robin has forwarded it copy of a telegram he received from General lan Hamilton as follows: —"So sorry I had no time to come over and say good-bye to you and fine fellows you command. I know I shall miss you next fight" we have; good luck to you all." Major Robin adds that the First New Zealand Contingent served from Bloemfontein for three weeks with General Hamilton on the march to Winburg1 via Thabanclru, and "in the advance' to Kroonstad. They had nine fights in thirteen days, and two more before reaching Kroonstad, or thirteen fights in all. _ On April 15 by order, says Major Robin, we rejoined the first brigade, ami General Hamilton sent this teleoram- "It is admitted that the column via Winburg had the longest route and the most fighting."
