Sleepers.—Letters were read from Motukaraka and Hokianga complaining of the large number of sleepers that were being rejected by the Government Inspector.— It was agreed that the secretary of the Union write to the member for .the district asking him to ascertain whether arrangements < could not be made to pass the sleepers in the bush.
Co-operation.—A letter was read from Mr 'A. G. C. Glass, organising secretary, suggesting that the Farmers' Union should adopt Mr S. Browne's scheme of co-opera-tion for farmers, the Union to be represented on the directorate.—A good deal tjf discussion ensued for and against, but n.O action was taken. ".":
Austrians.—A number of petitions were received from Austrian settlers prayingtheir grievances be taken by the Farmers*. Union.—The communications were refer* red to the member of Parliament for thai district as it did not concern the Union.
