The tram line has been laid from Ino. 1 level into the cross-cut, and, north of that point, the hanging wall has been driven upon for a distance of iC feet. Here this lode is 4 feet in •thickness, with' indications of .further widening going northwards, and the bulk value of the ore is £?. 7/ per ton. As soon as possible a start will be made to drive on the hanging wall lode, south of the cross-cut, in which direction there is a long reach of country still unexplored. On Friday the treatment of No. 5 charge of ore was completed, and on Saturday the vat was sluiced out, ipreparatory to starting the battery to-day. ,
