MELBOUENE, this day. At the inquiry re the wreck of the. Glenelg," the Marine Board engineer . and surveyor gave evidence that he visited the steamer the day bef°re she sailed. He hotioed a couple of flaws ia the shaft, - which he condemned, but. allowed her to proceed on her voyage after directing the chief engineer to employ reduced- pressure. At- the same, time he considered the shaft qtiiteserviceable. The flaws were longitudinal,, • 7 and if extended would cause the engines to stop.
