On Friday night last the office of Messrs li. Burrow and Co., Bank of New Zealand Buildings, was entered by some individual with a skeleton key, and an attempt made to pick the lock of the cupboard containing the books of the business. The lock being one of the best make, with four levers, stood the strain of the tools used, although necessitating the locksmith to reopen and make good. For future safety (and for the edification of the miscreant above referred to) the firm have ordered a superior iron safe and affixed an additional lock to the office door.
Fitzgerald Bros.' Circus was conveyed to Sydney in the s.s. Mararoa this afternoon. The company go on to Queensland, where they play a season in various towns. During the past week Mr Dan Fitzgerald purchased the local hunter Playboy for the circus.
