LICENSING BENCH.
(By' Telegraph.—Os?n Correspondent.)
PAEROA, this day
Great interest is being- taken in the meeting- of the Ohineinuri Licensing Committee, which takes place on Wednesday next, at Paerba, owing to the fact that eight applications for a new hotel at Waihi have been lodged and will come before the committee.
Largely signed petitions, both in support and against the granting of a new license have been lodged with the clerk of the court. It is very doubtful however if an Order-in-Council empowering the committee to deal with the applications will be obtained for this sitting- of the bench. There are also a large number of applications for transfers, and, of course, the usual
renewals
[The Government have decided not to issue any Order-in-Council for a new hotel license at Waihi.]
