In the junior football match, West v. City, the former won by. (i. points to nil. l\lr Ames refereed. After the kick-off play kepi tor some time in West's territory, but shortly the oval was swept into City's 25, and eventually centred. The blue and whites then got on a useful rush, and brought hostilities to City's goal line. A free kick was awarded West, but the oval was soon carried by the City forwards to centre; very even play ensued, neither side gaining any advantage. Towards the end of the first spell West defended well a determined rush by City, and at halftime the oval was in West's 25. The second spell was opened by a rush of the blacks, who had a free kick at goal, but missed, and play continued in West's 25. The blues, however, rallied, and a good passing game was established, which brought the ball near the black's goal line. Went had a free kick and nearly scored a goal. Alter the ball was in play again the blues got it out to the backs, and the forwards closed in and rushed the play into the twenty-five, where a try was shortly after recorded, both Wyatt and watts falling on the ball. The try was not converted. After some give _and take play. Watt .scored again, the game ending 6 to nil. West's backs played well, the wing threeqnai'ters being 'especially good. City made good efforts to score, but the constant returns proved too severe..
