AMUSEMENTS.
* - POLLARD'S OPERA COMPANY. The great popularity of the tuneful and amusing "Belle of New York" was further testified to last evening by a j crowded audience at the Opera House. Applause was loud and frequent, all the. favourite items being re-demanded. Messrs Stephens, Carter, Fitts, Quealy, Noble, Young, Albert and Percy all ; make the most of amusing parts. The | laiter's insane and inane German, who ' wishes to "kiel Bronson"with a rolling accent on the By— is an irresistibly . comic person, and the audience herald!ed bis appearance on the stage last j night, and his continuance there, with I (jhouts of laughter. Misses May Beatty, j. Gertie Campion, Wilmot Karkeek and J O'Sullivan are alike excellent. To- ! night is the last chance of witnessing ! this most amusing of musical comedies. ; To-morrow (Friday) night will be I revived the "French Maid." The lady f and her adventures are so well known I and highly appreciated by Auckland I audiences that comment is superfluous. Suffice it to draw attention to the fact that it will be only possible :to make or renew acquaintance with the fascinating lady to-morrow and Saturday evenings.
