best in Australia. All four bands placed on the top of his list, viz., Wellington, j Wanganui, North-east Valley (Dune- ' din), and Nelson, were quite up to the standard of the best bands of the big continent, j At a social given to Mr Code last' night the chairman said he would like to see the Bands' Association appoint a. judge for a term of four years, so that the competing bands j would know the class of musical judge for whom they would have to prepare.-.: |At present sometimes they had an orchestral, and at- other times a brass band expert.
