The women and children and the British officers at Pretoria have been transferred to quarters underDaspoortridge, on the outskirts of the pity. LONDON, March IS. The British cavalry hold Thabanchu, midway between Bloemfontein and Lady Brand. Thousands of rebels in the Orange districts have surrendered. The Transvaalers cling to the delusion that Europe will intervene. Two thousand five hundred rifles were surrendered on Friday. Lord Roberts' action in releasing those who surrender on parole Induced others to submit. Eight hundred Free Staters at Edinburgh have surrendered. General Gatacre captured 24 waggons, two engines, and a quantity of ammunition at Spring-fontein. Seme of his prisoners are Transvaalers. Boer deserters brought a Maxim and a nine pounder to Belmont.
