The Alameda, which left Honolulu on February 2S, brings news that lip to that dale (W cases of plague had occurred in the city, and of these 5i proved fatal. The great majority of these were natives, Chinese, or Japanese, but .there were several whites among- the number. No fresh cases had been reported since the 22rid, and twelve days had elapsed before that without a ease being- discovered. The streets were being sprinkled with diluted sulphuric acid in order to prevent infection by dust.

The disease was not confined to one portion of the city, but broke out in different quarters.
