THE TAVIUNI.

The s.s. Taviuni berthed at the wharf at 4 p.m. yesterday. She brought the following passengers:—Mesdames Eyton and Milne, Misses Fallwell (2), and Thorpe, Messrs Milne, Steel, Clapcott, Mathleson, Keith. Brabant,. Smith, Masters Whiteside, Millward, Slade. and 10 Polynesian mission students. For Wellington: Mrs, Miss, and Master Griffiths, Mr J. C. Rutherford. Mr C. E. Dench, the purser, reports that the Taviuni left Suva at 5.10 pm. on the 9th inst.; passed Cape Washington at 11 p.m. the same date; had Mokohinau abeam at 8.20 a.m. on the 14th, and arrived as above. A strong B. to S.E. gale, with high seas, was experienced, and lasted to lat. 27deg. S.; thence moderate weather to arrival. The Taviuni left for Wellington and Westport at 9 o'clock last night. I
