PUBLIC SCHOOL SPORTS.
4k The Public Schools Amateur Athlefu Association hold their annual sport: meeting in the Domain Cricket Grbuiu to-morrow (Friday) afternoon. Mr E.J Ohlson, the secretary, and the larg'i committe of school teachers have madi every preparation for a suceessfu j gathering, and the various school com i mittees have been, good enough t( ! giant the scholars a holiday, so tha I all may have a thorough day's enjoy I ment. Over 670 entries have beei I received this year, against 632 Ins j year, being over 40 of an increase ! The school children of the varioui : schools will give competitive display! in dumb bells, clubs, and the mayppli dan.cc, and there will also be physica drill and other displays. There an a number of foot races, high jump 1 long jump, and a one mile walk (open, on the programme. Admission is free Hunter's band will be on the ground No doubt with a fin.c day there wil be a very large gathering of parent: and «hildren on the ground to witnesr the sports and displays.
