NGARUAWAHIA REGATTA.

Xews comes from Xgaruawahia that arrangements in connection with Satin-day's monster native regatta are well forward, and all that is necessary is the continuance of the present fine weather to make the function as great a success as previously. This being the first time the regatta has been held on a Saturday, an extra large crowd from Auckland is expected, as it is, of course, much more convenient for business people to get away on a Saturday than during the week. Special interest will be centred in the canoe hurdle races, as the rivers are now lower than they have been for over 30 years, and the workmen are thus enabled to build the hurdles extra strong, which will be a decided improvement from a spectator's point- of vdew. The roads having been reported rrood, quite a number of our prominent wheelmen intend taking the train on Saturday morning and riding back on Sunday.
