SOUTHERN TELEGRAMS.
_ <_, (By ' Telegraph.— Press Association.) WELLINGTON", this clay. A fire broke out this morning in a brick building in Parish street, owned by If. M. Hay ward, of Melrose. The upstairs part of the building was occupied by Shelly and Ritchie, job printers, and the downstairs by (J. Sawers, who publishes the "New Zealand Dairyman." The fire originated under the'stairs, and though it, burned furiously for a time the building was not seriously damaged. The plants of the occupiers suffered greatly from fire and water. The insurances on the building are £1500 in the Royal. Skelly and Bitchie have £250 in the Madgeburg, and £200 in the Imperial, and Sawers is insured for £150 in the National Co. BEEFTON, this day. The charge against Lock Ye of having murdered a countryman, Lock Soy., occupied the Magistrate's Court all day yesterday. Fourteen witnesses .were examined. Accused was-com-mitted for trial. Deighton, charged with child mur-' der, was. again remanded to-day.
