PARNELL.

The ordinary fortnightly meeting oi the Parnell Borough Council was held at the Council Chambers last evening. The Mayor (Mr Hugh Campbell) presided, and Crs. Briggs, Fitts, McCabe, Friend, Gilmour and "Petford were also present.

Electric Trams. —Messrs Hesketh and Eichmond wrote stating- that they had received a copy of the proposed Order-in-Council and of the proposed deed of delegation, authorising the construction of an electric tramway through Parnell, and requesting the Council to appoint a committee to consider the terms. The Tramways Committee was instructed to consult with Messrs Hesketh and Eichmond. in the- matter.

Finance. —Accounts amounting to '£311 15s s«d were passed for payment. Tenders. —It was decided to call for tenders for a year's supply of sand, scoria and metal, the metal to be two inches in diameter.
