SLY GROG-SELLING.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) STRATFORD, this day. In the Magistrate's Court this morning- P. .T. White pleaded guilty on Uyo charges of selling liquor without a license at Whangamomona. Five other informations were then withdrawn by the, police. A fine of twenty-five pounds on each charge was inflicted, with costs. The magistrate said the failure of the law to provide facilities to grant licenses in sueh1 localities was not in the interests of temperance, but he was determined to show that sly grog-selling' would not pay in this district. One month was - allowed to pay the fine.
