DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY.
The City Hall was crowded on Saturday night, when .Mr P. R. Dix introduced a number of fresh faces and novelties, air MUfqrd Haven, who made his debut after an absence of over four years, gave an excellent rendering of "My Pretty Jane" and "Molly Bawn/' and was recalled "in each case. Mr Haven has a- remarkably sweet tenor voice, and sings with great expression. "The Mermaid's Ketreat," which comprised the first part, was a pretty scene and well carried out, and the singing by Mr Leighton of "The Ab-sent-minded Beggar" created lqurl applause. A lot of coins Avere thrown: on the stage, and the amount will.be handed over to the third contingent fund. The Lingard Sisters were cjoublr encored for both their turns, and Mr Albert McKisson. made his ' farewell appearance. The Jones-Blake quartette were successful as usual. Eexo's juggling feats were accorded applause. The Frodo trio, Collins and Browne, Mr Fred Farren, and the other performers were all well received, and the concluding farce, "Hurrah for Casey," created roars of laughter. The programme will be repeated this and tot morrow evenings.
